Diagram 3-28: Key command processing flow Article V IC card filling system security Intellectual IC card operation system --- COS 7 intellectual IC card, invented as early as 1968, has another name ---smallest PC (personal computer) from very starting. IC card, according to principle of desktop, also needs a set of operating system as platform, that is, COS (Chip Operating System). From the view of its position in intellectual card, it is much more like past DOC in personal computer. COS as core of intellectual card technology, all commands from exterior should be processed in operating system. This system is developed along with integrated circuit card from EEPROM to intellectual card with microprocessor. Compared with general operating system, operating system in card has many traits: address system security; COS is not a universal operating system because it is developed by various manufacturers. Yet, different commercial COS should be designed and developed in line with a basic and general international standard so that make sure the openness of system. Because of adopting unified interface in one factory, different chips may also provide same interface with similar functions. Safety threat and solution to IC card system The security of COS safety protection has integrated many current and matured safety technologies, its reliability lie in the following 3 items: Secrecy: adopt encryption to deal information, preventing illegal store and withdrawal data. Integrality: hinder illegal alteration of information including modification, deletion and increase, etc. Authenticity: syst fuel dispenser em has ability to verify the sender and receiver of data, ensuring data valid and authentic. IC card applied system may be attacked during working. Some are by malice, others unconscious. The concrete attack methods are divided into 3 categories: fuel dispenser Method I: Fake card, including fabricated card, changing card in operation, etc. Method II: compromised card, employing lost card or larcenous card to conduct operat fuel dispenser

he researchers found that poor performers were more likely to reduce guidance. In any case, say critics of the trend, pressures to meet short-term goals will persist for as long as companies release short-term figures. Enron, for instance, twisted its figures to show consistent quarterly growth to Wall Street—not because it provided guidance. Incentive schemes that reward such “consistentgrowth are a better target for corporate reformers than limiting information to the market, they say. One welcome effect of the trend is that many of the companies that eschew quarterly earnings guidance are releasing, instead, more information on long-term trends and other financial measures. Mr Buffett s Berkshire Hathaway provides useful annual notes on the state of the company and on how its investments have done. IAC InterActiveCorp, a media, retailing and online-business group, supplies information on its annual budget. Ultimately, it is data like these that help the markets—not the false precision of the next quarter s EPS. © 2006 . The economics of smoking Filtering the evidence Apr 27th 2006 From The Economist print edition Why do Europeans smoke more than Americans? JUDGED by their waistlines, Europeans are much healthier than Americans. More than 30% of Americans are obese, compared with 13% of Germans and under 10% of the French. But judged by their lungs, Americans are fitter than their peers across the Atlantic. Only 19% of adult Americans smoke, against 34% of Germans and 27% of Britons. Why do Europeans light up so much more? David C fuel dispenser utler and Edward Glaeser, of Harvard University, AFP attempt to answer this question in a recent paper*. Since they are both economists, the first thing they look at is price. Perhaps smoking is more expensi fuel dispenser ve in America? Not so. Relative to other commodities, cigarettes are in fact 37% cheaper in America than they are in the European Union. You can buy a pack fuel dispenser
